Transpostation in Patong Phuket

Hi...all...
Just need some information..
I havent been to Phuket...and plan to go in a month's time.
How is the transportation there?
We plan to stay our 1st night in Andakira hotel in the city then go to Mango Steen Resort the next day.
So I try to organise our transportation around.
From the information I've got, it will be a bit difficult to pick us up from one hotel to another hotel because of the mafia thing (each area is being organised by different people).
Is this true?
What about taxi from the airport to our hotel?
Because frankly speaking we dont want to get scam, since we don't understand their language also the area.
So please do share some information or maybe also a reliable transportation company there. Thanks heaps..
