What do you love/hate most about working abroad?

Hi everyone. I'm considering a job offer on the other side of the world and have still not made a decision. It's an offer from a long-time friend who moved to the UAE several years ago. The offer came completely out of the blue, but I have to admit I'm very tempted.

So, I'm wondering if you could share your thoughts on your first few work experiences outside of your home country. What did you love most? What was the most unappealing? Any fears?

I'm curious. And I'd love to draw from your experiences as I contemplate making my decision.
