Where to stay in Hanoi

Hello, I plan to be in Hanoi for a couple of months this spring. I would like suggestions about which neighborhood I should stay in. I am looking for an area that is nice and central/convenient but not noisy. I want to be able to enjoy the city but also need to have a normal life (work, exercise, etc). Thanks. -Christos
