World Travel in a Wheelchair (able-bodies needed)

Hello,

I had a spinal cord accident in Protected content left me paralyzed from the chest down. However I do not let this slow me down. I work in International telecom and travel to many countries with my work.

My biggest issue is finding accessible hotel rooms. In London I have actually been Lied to and was told a Victorian hotel was accessible when there were stairs to the hotel, stairs to the room and a bathroom door 24 inches (60cm) wide. This also happened in Gibraltar, not one hotel room in the whole country of Gibraltar is accessible. Everything hotel room in Barcelona is accessible. Malta hotels are nice and wide and even the rooms that are not specifically made for wheelchairs are accessible less a roll-in shower.

I would like to make a check-list for a accessible room and maybe a group member could check the hotel room in person before a wheelchair user gets to that inaccessible room.

Anyone please feel free to join this group!

Thanks in advance,

James Wilson
