ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL OCT 19-20 (Yangon)

The Embassy of Italy is glad to announce the screening of a series of Italian movies in the framework of the Italian Film Festival, a cultural event organized in occasion of the 17th Week of the Italian Language in the World.

The first movie will be the Academy Award winner Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, whose screening will take place at Junction Cineplex – Junction City Shopping Centre (5th floor), on Thursday 19 October Protected content 19:00 Hrs.
Nuovo Cinema Paradiso is a Protected content drama movie directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, which won the Oscar and the Golden Globe in Protected content the best foreign film. The movie is about the life of Salvatore, a famous director who grew up in a Sicilian village who returns home after receiving news about the death of Alfredo, an old friend and projectionist at Cinema Paradiso. Salvatore reminiscences about his childhood and his bond with Alfredo, which contained many highlights and tragedies. The movie brings the audience through the changes in cinema and it narrates a young boy's dream to explore the world outside his little native town.
The movie will be in Italian with English subtitles.

The following day, 20 October Protected content , three Italian contemporary movies will be screened in the premises of the Embassy of Italy (3, Inya Myaing Road) according to the following schedule:
- 18:00 Hrs. I Viceré
- 20:00 Hrs. La Mafia uccide solo d’estate
- 21:30 Hrs. Scialla!
The movies will be in Italian with English subtitles.
ADMISSION IS FREE.
However, due to the limited availability of seats and because of security reasons, you are kindly asked to reserve a seat and tell which movies you want to watch by sending an email to Protected content no later than 18 October Protected content . Participants will be asked to show their ID to enter the Embassy on the day of the screening.
