You are warmly invited to participate in our day long Wisdom of Mindfulness Meditation Retreat for Foreign (English Speaking) Nationals (non-Burmese) Sunday Jan 14 from 8:30 am - 6:00 pm
at the Mahasi Meditation Centre, 16 Sasana Yeiktha Road, Yangon.

The retreat is offered freely and limited to the first Protected content .

If you are a Myanmar national, and would like to practice at the Mahasi Centrre, please contact the Centre and arrange for your
retreat. This day long retreat experience is for non-Burmese who live and work in Myanmar.

The retreat will open with a tour of the Mahasi Centre by Alan Clements, an American and former Buddhist monk at the Centre.

This will be followed by taking the 8 Buddhist precepts for the day
along with receiving the mindfulness meditation instructions that
have been presented by the late Mahasi Sayadaw for 70 years.

The retreat will consist of both sitting and walking meditation.

A senior meditation teacher at MSY will give a dhamma talk
followed questions and answers sometime in the afternoon.

A Burmese-style meal will be offered to participants at 11:00 am.
Both vegetarian and traditional cusine will be available.

Retreat Assistant (kappiya): Supporting the Sayadaw, Meditation Teacher, and participating yogis (with the cultural translation of the retreat, help explaining protocol, interview style, technique questions, and other general help) will be:

Alan Clements (a former monk at the Mahasi Centre).

Practice at Mahasi Sasana Yeiktha is a precious opportunity. Yogis are asked to enter their retreat with open-heartedness, to practice with purpose and dignity, and to display kindness and high-respect for all during their time at the Center.

The retreat is freely offered by the Buddha Sasana Nuggaha Organization, the executive body that runs the meditation centre.

At the end of the retreat if one wishes to offer dana - a contribution of any amount - they can do so in the office before leaving.

We recommend that you bring your own meditation cushion.
Chairs and large flat floor cushsions are provided.
