Visiting Burma for 20 days in December (Yangon)

Hello Yangon community,
My husband and i will be in Burma for 20 days in December. We have been traveling for the past 7 months and usually we do not make reservation in advance however we hear that Burma is getting popular and budget accommodation hard to find. My question for you is: is it really difficult to find budget accommodation during the high season? Is it possible to stay with hosts as foreigners?
