To pursue recovery actions against shipping lines, road haulers, train lines and airlines for damage to cargo belonging to international traders in accordance with agreed business plans.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1.Being responsible for handling cargo claims from first notification to final claim settlement.
2.Dealing with correspondence and file administration including registration and protection of time bars.
3.Liaising with claimants to assist with investigating the cause of damage and collecting all necessary claims documentation.
4.Preparation of periodic status reports to underwriters and commodity traders on open and settled claims.
5.Advise on solutions and/or possible legal actions.

Self- driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.
A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Mature, credible and comfortable in dealing with senior big company executives.
Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Excellent communicator. Well presented and businesslike.
Flexible to travel up to a few weeks in other African countries.
Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability. Able to get along with others and be a team player.
Must be adept in use of MS Office Protected content later, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, Internet and email.
Business and Selling Skills:
Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers and large contracts or even a business, particularly achieving genuine sales development.
Ideal background would be in-house marine insurance legal. Experience of tenders would also be useful.
At least a first degree in law
Experience in OHADA law and common law
