RAV and unemployment (Zurich)

Hi there. Someone told me that if you relocate to Switzerland from another EU-based country, you can register in RAV as unemployed. This entitles you to some benefits, but it's not clear to me which. Is this documented somewhere in English? Does the Swiss state provide some subside or help? What about married couples? If one of them finds a job, what about the other?
