In association with the Centre for Security Studies ETH Zürich & Freethinkers Association of Switzerland, Zurich Salon is holding the public discussion event "Why are so many Westerners joining terrorist groups?"
We would love for you to join us for some debate and discussion with our audience and expert speakers as we engage in having a constructive conversation about this topic together.

What is driving so many young Westerners to commit or sympathize with appalling acts of terror in Paris, London, Madrid and the Middle East?

Speaking are:
• Adam Deen, former leading British Islamist extremist who now works for the Quilliam Foundation
• PD Dr. Elham Manea, dual nationalities, Yemeni and Swiss, and political scientist (Political Science Institute, University of Zurich) specialized on the Arab Middle East; writer, human rights advocate
• Dr. Prem Mahadevan, senior researcher with the Global Security Team at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) based at ETH Zurich
