InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Cape Town

Hello to all Americans in Cape Town! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Cape Town? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Cape Town which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: expats in Cape Town are in for a treat. The legislative capital of South Africa is a very multicultural city known for being South Africa’s oldest urban area, its turbulent history, the busy trading port, but also for its beautiful natural surroundings, numerous iconic landmarks, and much more! With the well-established public transportation network with Golden Arrow and MyCiti buses, the South African Metrorail services, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in districts (which are referred to as suburbs in South Africa) such as the Southern Suburbs or South Peninsula, which are less than 20 km away from Cape Town’s center.

Although Cape Town has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Cape Town, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
