Hello to all Americans in Guangzhou! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Guangzhou? There’s no doubt about it: with an urban population of over 11.5 million, life in Guangzhou might take some getting used to. The busy trading center is a port city known for its long history, the Canton Fair (China’s largest and oldest trade fair), having one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country, and much more! With the public transportation network consisting of Guangzhou’s metro, local buses and a large bus rapid transit system, as well as ferries crossing the Pearl River, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in neighborhoods such as Bin Jiang Dong Lu or expat hotspot Zhujiang New Town, which are less than 10 km away from Guangzhou’s center.
