Walk on the Wild Side.. and Picnic in Heverlee Woods

Hi hikers, nature lovers,

How about a relaxing hike deep in green woods and then a picnic lunch at the side of a lake in the woods: once the hunting grounds of the Duke of Arenberg & the Spanish monarchy? Enjoy the smell of fresh resins from the trees, water streams on the way, all the oxygen...Hopefully, the weather is nice and sunny ☀️.

We will go for a walk in Heverlee Woods, close to Leuven. The itinerary starts from the Protected content to the lake of Zoete waters near Leuven: about 11 km return. Zoete waters are listed as a valued domain in the Flemish cultural and nature heritage.

Please get a picnic lunch or some typical food from your country to share with others. We'll sit at the side of the water and enjoy ice cream too.

1) If you come by car, there is a parking close by or along the Naamsesteenweg.
2) if you come by bike: the meeting point
3) if you come by train or bus, please check your connection at Leuven or Heverlee station.
