Lunch, Walk and Drinks
This time we will visit the Oxford Botanic Garden, the oldest botanic garden in the UK and home to over 5.000 different plant species.
One of the oldest scientific gardens in the world, was founded in Protected content , as a garden with growing plants for medicinal research.
The Garden comprises several sections: 1. The Walled Garden, surrounded by the original seventeenth-century stonework and home to the Garden's oldest tree; an English yew. 2. The Glasshouses, which allow the cultivation of plants needing protection from the extremes of British weather. 3. The Lower garden and 4. The area between the Walled Garden and the River Cherwell.
We will meet at Protected content
We will walk towards the Centre and have lunch/drinks at BBuona Pinsa Bar or the Turtle Bay. Then will head to the Botanic Garden for a visit from 2:30 to 4 pm. Later, we will have a drink &/or dinner at The Red Lion, before taking the train back to Reading.
