Arabic Calligraphy: Music for the Eye

The home of projection artwork by Interference and a programme of talks and workshops, Protected content
is both a window and a threshold: a site for reflecting on the present, imagining new futures, and celebrating the messy brilliance of community-led cult.
Join us for a meditative introduction to the art of Arabic calligraphy with calligrapher Redouane “El Hozzei,” the hand behind the beautiful calligraphy on our shopfront.
In this workshop, participants are invited to explore the rhythm and visual harmony of Arabic lettering, described by Redouane as music for the eye.
You’ll be welcomed into the foundations of calligraphic flow and encouraged to choose a single Arabic letter to reflect on and bring to life through repetition and focused practice.
Materials will be provided, just bring your curiosity and a willingness to slow down.
All levels welcome.
Please only book a spot if you’re sure you can attend, as spaces are limited — and if your plans change, kindly return your ticket so someone else can join.
