Our next trip to nature leads to Vácrátót Botanic Garden.
Let's spend a calm relaxing day together in the Botanic Garden, with a short walk in the town of Vác.

Please bring some sandwiches, and quick food with you for the trip that you can have in an early lunchtime.

The botanical gardens evolved from the castle park in Vacratót. Its builder is unknown, but it is believed that István Géczy, the referendary of Vácrátót, who owned the estate at the time, had it planted on the model of the English gardens in Hungary in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The first written record of the garden dates from Protected content .

The landscape garden, which imitated nature, was transformed into a dendrological park and collection garden, incorporating motifs from the sentimental period. A pond system was created using the water from the streams running through the garden and including the old large pond; the excavated earth was used to diversify the rolling hillsides.
