Korean food culture is a deep-rooted tradition that focuses not only on taste but also on healthy eating, Korean cuisine is based on rice, vegetables, seafood, and fermented foods. At the center of Korean cuisine is “bap” (rice). Rice is served as the main dish, accompanied by small side dishes called “banchan.” Banchan varieties include kimchi, spicy vegetable salads, marinated seafood, and pickles.
Fermented foods are the most notable elements of Korean cuisine in terms of health benefits.
Kimchi: Made with cabbage, radish, or cucumber, kimchi is rich in probiotics.
Doenjang: Fermented soybean paste adds a rich flavour to soups and sauces.
Gochujang: Spicy chili paste is used in both dishes and marinades
