Holiday weekend; spa bath, old market, fiesta, monumental visits
We'll leave from just behind Sants station, after finished work on Friday, and take the usual 9-seater VW minibús (the driver has been taking people up round Catalonia for the past 30 years and takes care on the bends not to make you dizzy), stop for a coffee in ancient mediaeval capital Santa Coloma de Queralt, before arriving at beautiful Casa Rural with amazing views, bringing in a pitch-in supper. There are Fiestas in Rocallaura, where the spa baths are, which will have you floating out of there after 2 hours of bubbles, jets and sprays. Visiting Guimerà, LLeida's most beautiful and fascinating mediaeval village, with guide who will show us Jujol's backdrop in the church, Saturday lunch at really good value enthusiast's restaurant. Saturday pm Ancient Market in Conesa, Sunday visit to nationally renowned monastery of Vallbona de les Monges, with very friendly nuns. Sunday lunch also gastronomic experience. All in the little-known most beautiful Vall del Riu Corb.
