Conde Castro de Guimarães Museum-palace in Cascais has revivalist architecture, was built by Jorge O'Neill and Francisco Vilaça in Protected content stands out for its tower, with medieval characteristics.

The building underwent expansion work when it was already in the possession of the Count of Castro Guimarães.

After he died in Protected content , Manuel Inácio de Castro Guimarães donated the property to the town of Cascais in his will so that the Cascais Museum and Municipal Library could be built there. Along with the Palace of the Counts of Castro Guimarães, designed by Luigi Manini, and its English-style gardens, the contents were also donated to the town of Cascais; Highlights include pieces of period furniture, paintings from the time of its construction, 17th-century tableware, oriental porcelain and more than 25 thousand books.
