Bansko is hosting on February 22nd Protected content , Protected content FIS Ski World Cup. The countdown started at the Kempinski Grand Arena where the leaders of all teams responsible for the organization of the racing weekend. Alpine Combination, Super G and Giant Slalom are the disciplines in which the men will compete in Bansko. The "Marc Girardelli" run will host the fast disciplines - Super G and Giant Slalom. The slalom for the alpine combination will take place at the “Alberto Tomba” slope. If you were with us before in Bansko you may be familiar with these "Black Routes" ;)

150 trucks will deliver the equipment for the FIS World Cup - safety nets, Protected content , VIP tables etc. During the racing weekend Protected content members and over Protected content are expected in Bansko. Therefore we are looking into a very busy and lively weekend with full of action & all sorts of fun parties. You can ski & also follow races...sounds very much like fun to us!

BULGARIA'S MOST FAMOUS SKI CENTER, BANSKO IS A FAVORITE OF SKI-LOVERS THANKS TO ITS 15 DIFFERENT SKI RUNS APPEALING TO ALL LEVELS. BANSKO ALSO HAS THE LONGEST BEGINNER'S SLOPES.

The total length of the ski runs are over 75km. Artificial lighting makes night-time skiing possible. And the skiers gliding down the north slopes of the Pirin Mountains will have a chance to view Bansko through the trees and are not affected by the harsh winds. The grainy, non-sticky snow also makes an ideal surface for winter sports. There is a total of 13 ski lifts over the slopes. Beginners will find long slopes to practice. The Lifts have a carrying capacity of more than 14,000 persons per hour so there is not much waiting in lines although the lines appear too long at times. The trail known as Funpark caters to snowboard enthusiasts.

There is always a cafe or restaurant at the end point of the main ski runs at Bansko. Soup and sandwiches are also available at these venues that serve tea and coffee with honey as well as drinks.

CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE BALKANS
Encircling the historic town of Bansko, the Pirin Mountains have national park status as well as being on Unesco’s World Cultural Heritage List. As your group organizers, we are very famililar with this lovely town and ready to assist you with your weekend journey in Bansko.

There are two lovely squares in the historic center of Bansko, which is surrounded by parks. And the nearby area is bursting with historic monuments: a 30-meter historic clock tower, the town library, historic churches, and a literary and an ethnographic museum. Offering a rich array of food and entertainment as well, Bansko is the perfect choice for a different winter holiday. What’s more, it’s within easy reach both geographically and financially.

You can turn the trip to Bansko into an economical gourmet tour. Selections of the local cuisine are served to the strains of Bulgarian folk music at the traditional restaurants. Live dance shows are also common at these restaurants, which tend to be housed in historic venues. Shepherd’s salad with cheese (shopska), cachecaval cheese baked in the oven with honey and walnuts, grilled game meats, a puree of eggplant and hot red peppers, and pickled cabbage are just a few of the local specialties. Also, don’t forget to taste the fried sheep cheese in restaurants called “Mehane”.

A colorful open air market is set up in Bansko on Sundays. Woolen socks, antiques, flat weave kilims, local costumes and a variety of candy are sold at this market, open from 8:30 to 2:30.
