Kurdish Film Festival
Dear friends,
Are you interested in documentaries and Middle Eastern languages and cultures? The film festival 'Sercavan' focuses on Kurdish culture, society, and the struggle to maintain Kurdish identity. Naharina (English subtitles) is a documentary about Kurdish communal resistance and their efforts to build communes, cooperatives and women's houses. It's about democratic participation and the Mesopotamian roots of the Kurdish people. The film also addresses environmental issues, such as the dried-up river Khabur.
I look forward to meeting you there. Since the film starts early, I suggest that we meet for a drink afterwards.
