Speak, Laugh and Grow - "Facing Mortality - Looking at Life"

-- Facing Mortality - Looking at Life --
The Covid-19 pandemic shows our fear to die. Mortality is a broadly avoided topic. Bonn International Toastmasters (BIT) organizes a trilogy of special evenings, during which the all speeches and inputs will be connected to the theme of death. In short speeches, persons will share their experiences to say good-bye and let things go. We want to participate in this third part.
Two BIT members report stories from a hospice. They will swiftly engage with the audience about their personal experiences. Questions like the following will be brought to the front:
- What is the benefit of speaking about this topic?
- What if death isn’t actually unhappy?
- Can we prepare for the end?
The debate will be enriched by stories & testimonials from special guest. Some of them may report about how other cultures are coping with mortality, for instance in India.
During this session, everybody will have the chance to share a short story. Seeking a “light approach” to the evening’s theme, humorous questions will be offered.
As a guest, enjoy the speeches and the friendly atmosphere!
However, be ready for a short impromptu speech invitation— if you accept the challenge.
Guests are welcome to become an active member of our group if interested in improving the public speaking skills.
Everyone is invited.
