Deniz Cakir”s The Last Dance in Tatgammon

Summary of the show:
Based on the play Eleni and Rose…
The Last Dance in Tatavla is the story of a wait, maybe even a resistance.
Carrying the burden of a loot stuck between the past and the present, it is the whole of the fragmented structure that makes Eleni and Gül play with the naivety of children to refresh memory and forget. “The past isn't just about good memories,” says the character. A ruined, dilapidated house in the glittering city that bears the traces of September 6-7. Cracked porcelain timid glances. If it breaks, maybe love will leak, who knows. This play is a small touch of Rembetiko flavor to the experiences of two Greek women between leaving and staying, their clinging to the soil.
