Exploring Eastern European Cuisine: Bigos, Ladies and Gentlemen!
There are a lot of restaurants serving Southern European food. It is well deserved. But Eastern European cuisine has its favourite ingredients and exquisite dishes as well. The Polish classic bigos - with white cabbage as the principal but far from only ingredient is a case in point.
Join me this Tuesday for an easy going dinner in Valby: taste a modern and vegan twist on bigos, ask the chef for a recept before leaving or just spend a bit of time in a warm cosy place with friendly people.
Buy your ticket asap - they can sell out fast. Letβs make it a happy mid-week event!
Hereβs what the chef is writing about the menu:
A vegan, modern twist on traditional Polish bigos, a slow-stewed cabbage dish with autumnal pumpkin π, juicy grapes π, and hearty lentils. Like all proper bigos, itβs best enjoyed the next day (or even a few days later) for maximum flavor development and βbite through.β It will be prepared in advance. Served with fresh sourdough bread π and plant-based butter π±π§.
For dessert we will have spiced gingerbread cake π made with tomatoes π (yes, tomatoes! π) for extra moisture and depth, layered with a rich, tangy plum jam. Deliciously unique!
- We serve food at 18:30.
- Tickets can be bought at Tikkio.com. The deadline is 4 pm the day before the event. This will ensure we have enough food, and that no food goes to waste. π
- A main dish ticket costs 60 DKK and a dessert ticket costs 20 DKK. It is not possible to reserve tickets.
