The Zodiac Trio enjoys an international concert schedule that consistently spans three continents and is recognized by many as the new leader of the clarinet-violin-piano instrumentation. In its relatively short history - the ensemble formed in Protected content Manhattan School of Music before becoming the first American group and the only ensemble with a wind instrument to enter the esteemed Ysaye Quartet Chamber Music program at the Paris Superior Conservatory - the Zodiac Trio has achieved a level of recognition on the international chamber music stage, rarely bestowed upon an ensemble of such untraditional instrumentation. Boasting a consistently international touring schedule, the Zodiac Trio has performed throughout Canada, United States, Japan, Europe and most of China's main cultural metropolises, having given two extensive tours of the country in Protected content 2011. The ensemble has been critically praised for its "impeccable technique" (Fanfare Magazine), "remarkable musicality of rare intensity" (La Tribune, France), "truly exceptional and sublime talent," (Nice-Matin, France); and declared by the French newspaper La Marseillaise as "one the best chamber ensembles of its generation..." With a special emphasis on contemporary music, the Zodiac Trio is responsible for over a dozen commissions, and is currently collaborating with composer Richard Danielpour and French composer Nicolas Bacri. In addition to performing, the ensemble has presented master classes and clinics at Universities and Conservatories throughout the United States and in China and is a prize-winner of multpile international competitions in France, Italy and the United states.
