With Sleeping Beauty, Roberto Scafati presents one of the greatest classics of ballet literature. In his humorous reinterpretation, he takes up Charles Perraults' famous fairy tale from Protected content gives it a new direction thanks to his virtuoso choreographic language. In keeping with the romantic tradition, the world of fairies and ghosts is combined with the fates of the protagonists in an allegorical and symbolic way.
"Scafati tells the story with wit and verve, but above all with a refreshing lightness that avoids any sugarcoating and turns the serious teaching contained in every fairy tale into smiling wisdom. There is enough space for team and poetry ... With musical energy, dancing precision and an exuberant desire to play, his expressive dancers are eloquent, dynamic storytellers ...As it says in the children's song: 'Sleeping Beauty sleep a hundred years'. In any case, at the theatre, the royal child has now been kissed awake in an extremely brisk way. Stormy applause in the full house."
