Written in Protected content legendary Brazilian composer Chico Buarque, this brilliant musical is inspired by John Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera and Brecht & Weill’s The Threepenny Opera.

As much a theatrical spectacle as a piece of social critique, The Opera of the Trickster paints a vibrant, humorous, and at times biting portrait of Rio’s criminal underworld, blending samba, musical theatre, and biting satire.
This production is part of a musical theatre education project by EFG Basileu França, featuring young talents from their music and theatre programs.

•🎷 Live music by the Goiás Youth Symphonic Band and the Basileu França Big Band
•🎬 Direction by Professors Eduardo Machado and Hélio Fróes
