Spanish Lyric Concert With Oriental Influence.
The Tres Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, in collaboration with the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Cervantes Institute organizes a concert with an awsome programme in the framework of the project 'Orillas que cantan. Andalucia y Alejandría en diálogo'. This Spanish lyrical concert with oriental touches, starring soprano Aurora Galán (Los Palacios, Seville) and pianist Jesús de Sancha (Seville). The artists have carefully selected a repertoire that highlights the Orientalist influence in Spanish music, from popular music to zarzuela, including works by Manuel de Falla, Federico García Lorca, Sebastián Iradier, among others, as well as María Rodrigo, showcasing the role of women in music.
The concert program includes carefully selected musical pieces, many of them between popular and traditional, such as Paño moruno by Manuel de Falla, or Tres morillas se enamoran en Jaén by Federico García Lorca. Andalusian and romantic echoes also predominate, such as in Canción morisca: Aurora o la gitana de Sevilla by Sebastián Iradier, finishing with a section focused on Spanish lyrical music (zarzuela and romances).
The project counts with the economical support of the European Union and the Three Cultures Foundation.
