You like chinese food? But are fed up with undefined Thai-Viet-Panasian restaurants serving altered recipes adapted to turistical tastes?
You wish to enjoy authentic Sichuan specialties, rarely seen on a menu in most downtown restaurants?
You crave for fresh seafood, prepared on demand, in subtle flavors ?
YU MANTANG is a hidden gem, at the end of Chinatown strip, in the new Eastwing extension.with few tables, with staff hardly speaking or understanding english ( a bit of Hungarian though ), but with a very detailed and illustrated mouthwatering menu.
I have already tried it twice, with some expat friends, who unanymously agreed it was worth the trip.
My favorites were the giant gambas, the shelled scallops baked in a garlic sauce, the melting chinese eggplant stew, the never seen elsewhere delicious dumplings served on omelet base, the seafood fried rice, ornoodles, the spicy chicken, the BBQ lambchops, and soooo many more tempting ones to try.... ( our Chinese neighbors ordered an amazingly attractive seafood hotpot )
It is not a cheap restaurant , but given the quality of the ingredients, and the fresh seafood, you will find it worth the average 10.000 huf you will spend on this real culinary discovery.
You can also stick to rice and chicken and not go beyond 6.000 huf.

The most convenient transport is the bus 9. The Egesheghàz bustop is 6 min walking distance .

For those who want, we can meet at Kalvin ter stop at 11: Protected content me know ).
