Exploring Longhua Park and Temple
Anyone happens to have Friday off? If you're in sightseeing mood, would you be up for a short morning walk in Longhua park?
Located near exit 2 of Longhua Metro Station (Line 11/12), the park looks like a peaceful place for a morning stroll. Above all, the park is famous for having Shanghai's oldest and largest temple: the Longhua Buddhist Temple comprises five main buildings and, according to the legend, holds some of the cremated remains of Buddha.
It also features an imposing pagoda (that appeared in Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun), the temple of Protected content and a fortune-bringing bell that weighs 6 tons.
Should we have time, we can also visit the adjoining Martyrs Cemetery.
