Anyone fancies having yet one more sightseeing trip around Shanghai?

Following the exploration of Longhua park and temple ( Protected content ) and the World Expo Museum ( Protected content ), let's head north-west to Nanxiang to kick off the weekend.

Located in the Jiading district, the ancient water town of Nanxiang is more than just a bunch of picturesque houses overlooking canals. It features the imposing Yunxiang temple, that dates back to the Tang period, and the Guyi Gardens, perhaps Shanghai's most famous gardens in Suzhou style. Also, the traditional xiao long bao are said to have been created for the first time in a restaurant next to the Guyi Gardens.

Let's then embark on a little Saturday morning quest, to find out more about the hidden gems in Nanxiang district.
