Hike up Bukit Gasing
5th Feb is a public holiday as it's the first day of the Chinese New Year. It's good to start with some exercise in a natural setting.
It's decent exercise to get a nice sweat. This is a relatively simple hike but there are hills to be climbed, so you have to be relatively fit. I've seen 10 year old kids running up as well as unfit adults having to stop frequently to catch their breath.
It's also very scenic. Lovely to have a green lung so close to KL. We need to enjoy it before it's developed. The hike is in the woods, shady enough so it's not too hot. There are photo opportunities for those interested in nature.
We are starting the hike at 7:45 am so please be punctual. My number is Protected content . If you're delayed or can't make it, please do give a call.
Please send me your phone number so we can communicate if there are changes. I'll start a WhatsApp group for this hike. We can also share photos there after the hike.
Bring water and maybe a change of clothes for after the hike. Have a bite before the hike so you don't run out of energy.
Asia Jaya and Taman Jaya are the nearest LRT stations. A taxi would take about 10 minutes from there.
Parking is difficult. I usually park near the restaurants on Jalan Gasing and take a 10 minute walk up. Don't park where there are yellow lines as the MBPJ officers are diligent in issuing summons for illegal parking.
The hike itself is only about 90 minutes. If all are keen, we can go for brunch nearby after the hike.
