Kayaking in North Texas Hill Country
Update: Due to weather (high winds) I had to move the event to Sunday. This can be moved to Saturday October 14th if not enough people can attend.
9 kayaks are left for reserving unless an attendee brings an extra.
Come spend some time on the water in the heart of the Palo Pinto Mountains. This is a kayaking event located at Lake Palo Pinto. The lake is a beautiful to kayak with pretty coves and spectacular views. For those that love scenic beauty and geology this event will definitely be for you as there are may different rock formations and cuestra shaped mountains. This lake is however quite far for those in the Dallas area (2 hours max) but even the drive from Interstate 20 is well worth the trip. There are many wildlife here as well. If you are lucky, on the way in or out you may see deer, turkeys, roadrunners, hogs, and many birds. The event location has a restaurant, bar, restrooms, and a good boat ramp to make launching easier. This can be a dawn to dusk event so stay as long as you like.
I have purchased 8 kayaks Protected content max) to borrow and have one extra spare. One interested attendee said to have had an extra as well. If you do have a kayak and can bring it I encourage you because it will help other who can not. If you can bring an extra please do and let me know so that I can add the extra kayak to the borrow list.
+++For those who don't have a kayak and do not want to buy one please make a comment that you need to borrow as soon as you accept the event. Protected content will let you know if there are any available and if not put you on a waiting list. Keep in mind that this is an all day event and most people can not kayak all day so there are opportunities to share the borrowed kayaks.
For those who are on the borrow list, if you need to cancel please let me know so I can assign the kayak to another person. For anyone who is bringing an extra kayak that needs to cancel, let me know right away so I can inform the person on the borrow list.
In the event of bad weather we will postpone to Saturday the 14th. If not using GPS call for directions. It is super easy.
I also have a 5 person paddle boat to play with so let us have some fun before the water and weather gets too cold!
Update: I have tightened the time to give people traveling long distance more time and for those who want to attend the 10 year anniversary event to have more time to prepare. Of course anyone can stay as long as wanted.
