Christmas is a celebration for all the senses. Lights brighten streets and homes, symbols of hope and unity. Music stirs memories and emotions that bring us closer together, while the cold, scents, and flavours of the season awaken our feelings. Inspired by this spirit, the musicians of the Metropolitana present a concert that engages every sense. It begins with Illuminations Protected content Miguel Azguime, a poetic dialogue between orchestral sound and the spectrum of light. Next comes Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 3, whose final movement recalls Rossini’s operatic joy, freeing us from the present with a smile. Finally, traditional Christmas melodies return—newly arranged by conductor Pedro Neves, in a fresh and festive debut.
