World Refugee Day celebration in DFW on Saturday
Today, June 20th is World Refugee Day!
Join the DFW community and celebrate culture and community at the Protected content World Refugee Day! Enjoy performances, carnival games, arts and crafts, and food and refreshments as we honor the refugee community in Dallas. This event is free and open to the public. All members of the community are welcome! Bring your family and kids.
Each year on June 20 the United Nations, United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and countless civic groups around the world host World Refugee Day events in order to draw the public's attention to the millions of refugees and Internally displaced persons worldwide who have been forced to flee their homes due to war, conflict and persecution.
The annual commemoration is marked by a variety of events in more than Protected content , involving government officials, humanitarian aid workers, celebrities, civilians and the forcibly displaced themselves.
In case you didn’t know… around the world, every minute 20 people leave everything behind to escape war, persecution or terror. There are several types of forcibly displaced persons: Asylum Seekers (who we, InterNations ChangeMaker/Volunteer Group support through partnering with HRI), Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, Stateless Persons, and Returnees.
Sorry, but you are not allowed to join this Activity Group!
