The Overlooked Genocide: Confronting Violence Against Women

FREE BUT MUST REGISTER: Protected content
When we think of genocide, we often envision mass atrocities carried out along ethnic or religious lines, but there is a parallel crisis unfolding across borders: the systematic targeting and killing of women simply because they are female. Genocide is a difficult topic, but this evening will focus on the hope for a better tomorrow.
We invite you to join this important gathering of international voices from Mexico, Afghanistan, and Central America who are at the forefront of confronting this crisis and creating meaningful change.
Cecilia Farfán-Méndez, Head of the North American Observatory at the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime
Juan Miguel Rivera, Regional President for Latin America at the International Justice Mission
Mariam Safi, Executive Director of the Organization for Policy Research and Development Studies
Natalie Gonnella-Platts, Director of Global Policy at the George W. Bush Institute
While this crisis remains largely invisible in mainstream media, meaningful dialogue can spark understanding and hope. Join others committed to change as we work together toward a world where every woman and girl can live free from violence.
