Spice Up Your Sunday – Authentic Sichuan Lunch Gathering

This time, we’re going spicy.
Sichuan cuisine (川菜) is one of the most iconic and beloved styles of Chinese food – bold, unapologetic, and full of surprises. Sometimes numbing, sometimes fiery, often both. But never boring.
Real Sichuan dishes feature chili, garlic, fermented sauces, and the legendary Sichuan peppercorn, known for its tingling effect – má là (麻辣).
But it’s not just heat. Beneath the spice is depth: layered flavors, smoky oils, earthy veggies, and a lot of heart. It’s food that wakes you up a little.
It’s not all spicy, either. This is not a test of courage, but a meal full of character.
