Peking Duck – A Timeless Chinese Delicacy

As a native Chinese, my first encounter with Peking Duck at 16 was… disastrous. My mother bought me a whole duck in Beijing, and I rushed back to the hotel to try it — only to find it so fatty, so greasy, and honestly quite unbearable. I nearly threw it away, until a Hunan girl next door happily took it for herself.
But destiny had other plans. The second time, Beijing friends insisted I must give it another try. When the table was set with delicate pancakes, fresh veggies, sweet sauce, and even duck soup, I was already amazed. Then they wrapped a big, juicy duck roll and pushed it into my mouth — as oil dripped down my chin, I couldn’t help shouting: ‘Why is this so delicious?!’
Now, I’d love to share this legendary dish with you in Rotterdam. Let’s gather Protected content in Chinatown and enjoy an authentic Peking Duck feast together.
Peking Duck has charmed many famous figures — from Nixon and Bush to Kissinger, who called it his favorite even at 100, and Charlie Chaplin, who joked he only eats ‘Chinese ducks, not American ducks’. Clearly, this dish is more than food — it’s a legend !
