Music in the Time of Paolo Veronese

Dear art and music lovers, in addition to the activities organized by the Museo del Prado accompanying the new exhibition on Paolo Veronese, this fascinating concert offers a unique musical complement to the experience.
The program explores the artistic and musical landscape of Veronese’s era in Venice. It highlights Adrian Willaert, a key figure in the Venetian style, presenting some of his most representative motets alongside works by Andrea Gabrieli and Cipriano de Rore.
Sacred and secular music intertwine throughout the concert, contrasting religious pieces with madrigals, sung a cappella to enhance the stylistic distinction.
The event concludes with Giovanni Gabrieli’s magnificent Magnificat for eight voices.
