Sunset Hike at Canyonback Trail, Santa Monica Mountains

Let's take advantage of the longer days and do a short hike after work.

This trail is just a few minutes from the Protected content between the Getty Museum and Skirball Center, yet feels far away from the busyness of the city.

We'll walk for about an hour, turning around after about 30 minutes so we can get back to our cars before it's dark.

Distance: 2 to 3 miles

Difficulty: Beginner level, with Protected content of elevation gain on the main trail, or more elevation if you take the adjacent foot trails that lead higher up and offer sweeping views. Protected content

Parking: There is easy and plentiful parking at the trailhead. Use Protected content Road for your GPS and meet at the trailhead at the end of the road.

Bathroom: There is no bathroom at the trailhead, so use the facilities before you arrive!

Also, there is no cell phone service at the trailhead, so if you're lost or running late, I will not see any messages.

Meet at the trailhead at 7:00pm for introductions; we'll start the hike by 7:15pm.

Bring a warm jacket. Beach fog can roll in and drop temperatures quickly and significantly.
