Yurts and Monasteries - a Mongolian Exhibition, and Indian Lunch

This program takes you to an exhibition on traditional Mongolian culture, followed by lunch at a nearby Indian restaurant, that many consider among the best and most authentic in Budapest.
The exhibition focusses on traditional Mongolian material culture, such as objects associated with everyday activities of men and women – dishware, costumes, jewellery, toys, musical instruments, as well as a yurt containing a household altar and the respective ritual accessories.
Shamanism, the vernacular religious belief of nomadic Mongolians, is presented by the interior of a Shaman hut, with costume and objects that serve as accessories of shamanistic rituals.
Buddhism, the predominant religion in Mongolia for long centuries, is represented by some figures and accessories of the chamdance, and rolling prayer wheels.
The last thematic section focuses on bronze objects of the nomadic peoples living in China’s northern borderlands.
You can also enjoy a little walk or rest, in the Asian inspired garden, behind the museum.
LUNCH: Join us for lunch afterwards at a nearby Indian restaurant, where a great selection of traditional VEGAN, VEGETARIAN and MEAT dishes are served. Please set aside an additional Protected content for that activity. Time flies when we are having fun!
Looking forward to an other great program together!
