InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Algiers

Hello to all Americans in Algiers! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Algiers? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Algiers which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: newcomers may well lose their way in the labyrinth-like streets but can use this occasion to discover the various facets of the city. The Algerian capital is a fascinating city known for its whitewashed buildings which earned it the nickname “Algiers the White”, impressive architecture, monuments, turbulent history, and much more! With the metro, tram, and bus services as well as commuter-rail lines to the suburbs, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in more residential areas such as Ben Aknoun or Sidi Yahya, which are less than 10 km away away from Algiers’s center.

Although Algiers has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Algiers, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
