Importing pets to Jordan (Amman)

Greetings,
We are moving to Jordan from the US next month and bringing our two cats. Can anyone please confirm if the cats are required to have some form of ID or pet passport? Also, regarding the rabies vaccination requirement, do you know if the vaccination can be within one year prior to entry, or is the requirement that it must be within six months before entry? I have seen conflicting statements on the internet. Thank you!
