Three days in NZ (Auckland)

I plan to visit Auckland early Dec for only three days before visiting my family in Australia. So my question is. What to do in such a beautiful country when you have only three days to spare.
I love the outdoors, i'm fit and healthy, I want to spend a day visiting Auckland... Any ideas?
