Coming to Mali for work from New York (Bamako)

Hi Bamako community! I am coming from New York to Bamako in two days' time for a week or so - to conduct a study for Columbia University in Mali. Don't know a soul in Mali - would anyone in the Internations community be willing to talk to me or meet me for a tea? I am a psychologist turned consultant with dual Italian and Swiss nationality. I work quite a lot conducting social and political research but also write novels in my spare time.
