How to escape Golden week in Beijing

Dear All ..

I will be flying to Beijing this weekend until 5th of Oct, without realizing that it is China's 1 week public holiday start from 1st of Oct.

I would like to ask for your advise, how to avoid the crowd in Beijing during Golden week?
Any less crowded place to visit, or any activities i can do?
As i just notice that it will be very crowded.
Somewhere outskirt Beijing is also fine.
Any recommendation would be great.

This will be my first visit to Beijing.
