EDL Demonstration Sat 20th July (Birmingham)

Just a warning that there will be extra Police Presence in the city today and as there are two BIG demonstrations. One is for the EDL (English Defence League) and the other is an opposition anti-fascist demonstration.

The anti Fascist demonstration clearly suggests that the EDL are seen to have a very focused agenda and it may be wise to take a little extra caution around the city today or perhaps avoid certain parts of it.

In the past these demonstrations have been marked with violence but with 1,000 extra police staff drafted in from all over the country, they are trying to show trouble will be dealt with.

Regardless, please keep an extra eye on the situation and be a little cautious today, especially if you stand out as being foreign.
