Buy Apartment in Buenos Aires

Hi Guys,
I am thinking to buy an apartment in Buenos Aires and was wondering if anybody has experience of how to PAY? To get "YOUR" apartment registered in Argentina do you have to prove how you brought the money into Argentina? Or could I transfer the money on a bank account outside of Argentina (and therefore avoid possible taxes and carrying the cash)? In the case of legal importation of the money how much tax would I have to pay?
