Cucarachas! (Tenerife)

Hi everyone. We are going to be in Tenerife in a month. I want your brutal opinion... what's the current cockroach situation in Tenerife?
I am TERRIFIED! I know they're not harmful, but it's a phobia, I can't control it rationally. I mean, one or two near trash bins are ok, but from what I read, it's much worse than that. I'm too late to cancel flights and will just have to face this issue.
We'll be staying in Costa Adeje (Los Olivos) in a residence. In march.
We were planning to move there, that's why we are surveying, but truly ignored this subject until now.
