Social life in Caracas

Hello every one!

We are about to be transfered to Caracas and I am trying to figure out how it is to live there, specialy in terms of where to live, where to hang out, where to shop, etc.
So, if someone could tell me the basics about the city, like if there is an area with nice restaurants, or the safest neighborhood to live in (wether you live in an apartment or a house). I would highly appreciate it!
